Kansas and Fair
Sep/08/09 Tuesday
This weekend is labor day weekend. It is also the
weekend of Emily’s wedding. Emily is one of the girls
from Hiroko’s host family in Kansas. So we flew down
and enjoyed wedding. It was really nice to finally
meet the family from US that Hiroko is always talking
about. Karen and Ron, mom and father of Emily, are
some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. They even
gave Hiroko a key to their new house in Colorado. I
also met Emily’s sister Lisa. After the wedding we
had some time to stroll around Lawrence and Kansas
City. We stopped by the KC’s City Market on 5th and
Main. On Labor Day Monday we headed down to Raging
waters to use up our free tickets and headed to the
Los Angeles County Fair. Unfortunately I forgot to
bring my camera to the wedding.

Randomly, during a drive, it occurred to me that we
haven’t been to the beach this whole summer. Last
summer we would go pretty often to get some surfing
in. But since our decision to renounce surfing we
hadn’t had the opportunity to go. So we made it a
point to head down to the beach this weekend. Since
we hadn’t seen Ernest in a while either we headed our
way down to SD to see him and get some time at the
beach. We ended up going to the Dog beach in Ocean
Beach. It was short, but we did other things like
hang out with Ernest and his friends. Watch
Inglorious Bastards. Overall it was a great weekend.
Teddy came along and stayed at Ernest’s place as
well.

Went to tramway today. Ever since Kenny’s gotten back
from Singapore he’s been wanting to get some climbing
in. We decided to head down to Tramway.

Teddy Killed a Possum 8/21/09
Sep/08/09 Tuesday
For a long a period of about a week there was a nasty
stench. We couldn’t figure out where it was from and
just though that teddy’s stools have been smelling
ultra narly. It wasn’t until Erich came over and
pointed out that there was a dead possum in our back
yard that we realized what had happened. Teddy Killed
it. The foul odor was so strong that I couldn’t get
close without gagging. This is why you will see me
wearing the gas mask.
