Loss of Wisdom

The most significant thing that happened this week was getting my Wisdom Tooth removed. Over a course of three days, an infection developed due to a cut on the gum caused by the wisdom tooth. One the third day I decided that seeing a doctor was the best course of action incase it was an infection. By this time the left back side of my mouth was hurting. I could not open my mouth over 1 finger wide and it would hurt to pop my ears and swallow. I visited Dr Tsui, a family friend to get my tooth looked at. We decided that the best thing was to get it pulled... and out it came. The rest of the week was a blur. I had a few demos here and there. Went to CSUSB to see The Sharp End again. Went to the ARC to do a demo at an event called the “Dead Point”. It was pretty lame. On Saturday worked at the Hollywood Park Race Tracks for Hawthorn High’s Home coming. This weekend was a stinking weekend. Not to say it was not good, but to say that my and Hiroko’s mouth smelled like garlic. Why? Stinking Rose twice... saturday and sunday.. oh how I love Garlic. Good thing Hiroko likes garlic too and can put up with my breath..

Crash Course to Canyoneering

Crash Course to Canyoneering is what we called Outdoor Adventure’s intro to canyoneering trip. The day started early. 7:00am people started to gather Communiversity, most of whom are still suffering from morning grogginess. However, there is a sense of excitement in the air. This trip started with some basic knowledge of canyoneering. We taught the basic skills needed to rappel safely and quickly. Everyone has to pass the test of rappelling off the UTCC stairs. Once the group and us felt like they are ready we headed for San Antonio Falls of Mt Baldy. The sky was incredibly clear with no smog in the air. The sun was out, and the weather was fair. The water was cool and refreshing. This trip was one of the best canyoneering days I’ve had. 5 rappels later, we were done. Everyone one walked away with a smile on their faces and a new story to tell their friends.

San Antonio Canyon

Today Hiroko, Kenton and I went to Mt Baldy to get some canyoneering action. Josh Parker is running a canyoneering trip two weeks from now so we have to check it out to make sure all the anchors are there and the approach and navigating isn’t too dangerous. Based off of Dan Kat’s web site we started hiking towards the green hut. WRONG!! I’ll explain later. On the way up Hiroko was stuck with AMS. She tends to get it since she has an extremely low blood pressure. We decided to turn around and just check the bottom of the falls. At the bottom we met up with some random folk that just so happen to be repelling the last fall. They informed us that Dan Kat’s Directions is the long long, 1 hour 40 + minutes, way and there is a super short cut, which is only 15 minutes hike to the top. Hiroko left us to get some sleep and rest, while me and kenton went up the short cut for some fun. Cold water... and 5 fun rappels one right after another. Good short run...

Though Hiroko didn’t get to go this time, I’ll take her next weekend and we’ll get some pictures. The camera failed to work when we were in the falls. \

Good Friday

After work I headed towards the Rock City. Rock City is a climbing gym located in the industrial corner of Anaheim Hills. This is also the same gym where I first started climbing and learned the ropes to climbing. Not to mention they have some of the best route setters. Anyways... It was nice to be back there climbing something a bit different. While there I met some climbers were pretty cool. They are still beginners, but they seem to have really like it. I believe their names were Mark, Sero and Andrew. 6:45 rolled around and I realized that I’ve been there for too long. I am suppose to meet up with Jennifer Lee, Sherry Tyan, Charlene Cheng, and Jessica Liu and friends for dinner at BCD @ 7:00pm. Since I left late I got there late. To make the story short, I arrived and no one was there. They rescheduled for thursday and failed to let me know. Its not really their fault because I never confirmed my plans to attend. So now I’m just at home chilling... typing.. etc. Life is good.

MTB Quicky

Things at work are nice today. Though work has been slow, I have been able to learn a lot. Hopefully I will be able to learn more as the Christmas season rolls around and things start speeding up. I have been spending some time trying to develop a good customer relationship with the different clients. Things such as remember their events, names, and things they’ve order or the preference they may have. After work today I went mountain biking with Josh Parker, and Josiah Crum. Normally thursdays are 1 on 1 days with Josh in the office, but we are outdoor adventures and we change things up. We talked and biked.. well we talked when we stopped. I was way to out of shape to talk, I can barely make it up the trail. It has been to long since I’ve hopped on my two wheeler... after our little quicky ride we went to the “Asain Strip”, Colima to grab dinner. I was happy that Hiroko was with us.
Hiroko is having some trouble with her eyes tonight. A combination of trial contacts and in you face monitor at work may be the cause. Hope she feels better. God heals.

Genius move of the day. I put my bike on my rack and drove off.... while driving my bike comes crashing to the asphalt. I forgot to actually secure the bike. All i did was place it on the rack.
