Mad Rock
Jul/24/08 Thursday
Okay... a chance of a lifetime. The climbing industry
is some what of a niche market. The professonals in
the industry all know each other. That is the reason
why it is really hard to get into the climbing
industry. Usually you must have lots of expereince or
you know someone. In my case, I was lucky enough to
know kenny suh. However, this doesn’t mean I’m set.
Next week starts my trail period. Got to prove I can
do what needs to be done.
I’m really stocked to be working for Mad Rock. I’ve constantly wanted to work in the industry of my passion and now I an able to work for the largest climbing shoe distributor in the world. Thanks to God.

How many can you do?

I recently started a program called hundred pushups.
In theory if i followed this program step by step, I
am suppose to be able to complete 100 pushups
consecutively by the end of 6 weeks. I haven’t
started the actual weekly program, but i took the
initial test, and will be starting on monday. I will
have a consistant schedule of pushups on Monday,
Wednesday, and Friday. I even got the Pushup Pro, the
knock off of the perfect pushup, to help compliment
the workout. Hopefully, by the end of this not only
will I be alble to claim 100 push ups, but I will
aslo gain a manly boob. Check out the web site by
click the banner below. Girls or guys.. come join us
on the quest for 100 PUSHUPS!!!!
I’ll be keeping a record of my progress..
Initial test: 31 consecutive pushups.

Overloaded Overwhelmed and Over my head
Jul/21/08 Monday
Its been busy, so busy that I haven’t even had time
to go climbing. The root of this business? ARGG
school. Corporate finance to be exact. We are
assigned to compelte a 15 page minimum analysis on a
publicly traded company. The only problem is that we
only had a week to complete it. The teacher assigned
at the beginning of the semester, ~ 1 month ago, but
we didn’t lean the neccessary skills to analyze until
last week. Now every student is going crazy trying to
finish the paper. Nearly all of us still do not
understand much of what she wants in the paper. The
final mixed with a full time schedule leaves little
time for me to just relax. This is also why its been
a while since I’ve last updated an entry.
Despite my business, I was able to get out on the weekend. Last last weekend I was able to take my cousin to Universal Studios. We check out the new Simpsons ride, which I thought was impressive. I felt like I was on the more intense roller coaster ever. The studio’s back lot had a fire so the tour no longer has the King Kong site. Oh well. there were other tings to check out.
This last week Me and Hiroko were lucky enough to join Josh Rodgers on a night in Hollywood. One of his long time friends was playing at The Key Club. We left a bit late got stuck in traffic and ended up missing them play. Echo Body was the name of the group. In the end we stuck around the club watched a over fancied cruise ship band play a couple songs. It was interesting watching the people dane and interact with others. We then drove back had some Tommys and went back home. Good times.
My lip is alot better now. However, there is this wierd hard bump. I’m guessing its scar tissue. Hopefully it goes away. Ooh.. Hiroko and I also discovered the library as a source of DVD rentals. 4+ rentals for free as long as we had a LA county library card. We’ve rented at least 15 movies from them in the past two weks. Great great discovery.
Man.. it was crazy.. a 747 Crashed here. I thought I’d take a picture

The Fountain
Jul/09/08 Wednesday
The Fountain is the last movie I saw. Josh Rodger
came to visit me and Hiroko on Monday. We had dinner
and decided to watch The Fountain. I really recommend
it. This movie start off jumping around from one
timeline to another, so for the first 20 minutes or
so I was struggling to grasp was is happening. How
are all the scenes connect? This movie makes you
think about what life is about and what we should
actually hold close. Its about life and death. Its a
lot of surrealness and crazy stuff. This movie had
me, Josh, and Hiroko talking. We disscussed and
thought about it for the next two days Just Watch..
here is a trailer to get your thoughts stirring.
*After you’ve watched the movie click here to see the many theories about The Fountain.

San Diego
Jul/06/08 Sunday
Yes! July 4th, an extra day to our weekend. I was
excited and had these plans for how I was going to
spend it, climbing in Tahquitz, a weekend in joshua
tree, camping in the sierras. None of them was
executed. I ended up being kind of lazy from lack of
sleep and decided to just relax. Josh Echi was
gracious enough to bless us with his presence. He
drove down from SLO to hang out. Us friends gathered
and hung out for lunch at my house. This is when we
recieved a text message from Ernest asking us to join
him in San Diego. Our lack of planning paid off. We
(Hiorko, Kenny, Josh and I) are now on a trip to San
Diego to go surfing. We hung out.. had lots of food.
Saw a fire and some fireworks. Surfed and ended
coming back with a busted lip. My surfboard somehow
hit me in my face when it was shore side of me. Long
story short.. I got 4 stitches and I got a lip the
size of anna nicole smith.
PS. I added a Special Films page. Check out a great short by Ernest Quiambao

Cousin, Broken Car, and Knotts
Jul/03/08 Thursday
My cousin is in town. He arrive a bit over a week ago
now. He’s from Taiwan and visiting for vacation as
well as learn a bit of english. He plays alot of DS
when at home but he seem to be making some friends
and going out. I know for sure that today he is at
Disneyland. On saturday we went to Knott Berry Farm.
Though I love it, I think it was bit much for him and
his friend Jimmy. Half they time was convincing them
to go on the rides, the other half was making sure
they don’t regurgitate what they ate for lunch.
Here is a picture of Samson, my cousin.
Perilous plunge.!!
This is the Knotts train. Woot woot
Waiting in life. It was the wettest line ever.. Water everywhere. Rain/flood. nice on a hot day.
In the above picture we are standing in line for the perilous plunge. Its pretty much a large raft/boat that flies down this steep drop. You’ll see in the next picture. Well anyways. Knotts was fun even though we weren’t able to hit up every ride. I’m sure Samson enjoyed it. hmmm hopefully. Well anyways. Let me contiune about other events of this past week. One thing to not is that my car has been on the slow road to death. I’m doing my best to keep him/her in shape but little things keeps breaking. This time is the intake hose. The rubber got old and cracked. It was probably a devloping problem, this may be the explanation why my car has been runing a low MPG. Well now its fixed and had a new oil change. Hope things will be well for awhile. Due to this car trouble I was forced to ride my bike to APU one morning. Took me a whole 50 minutes... I would of been on time if I only had left an extra 5 minutes earlier. Blah!
Me working on the car.. installing the new hose. Head light because it was late at night.
Yesterday night Hiroko cooked for the family. She went to 99 ranch and gathered all the ingredients for our special surprise dinner. Okay.. it was a surprise, but since we can’t afford eating out not more, she decided yesterday is the day we start cooking. She made Japanese dry curry. I’ve never had it before. It was gooood. It was sad to find it all gone by the time I got back home today it was all gone. Oh well.. I have the master chef.. she’ll cook me some more.
My master chef, Hiroko Otsuka Hsieh
Just a randome picture of Josh Rodgers and Jeff A. something.
