Fun in The Summer @ Eaton Canyon

Eaton canyon was the venue and cliff jumping was the show. However we didn't know how sketchy it was to get atop of Eaton Fall. I don't see how people do it. It is death waiting to happen. So.. to make it safe I used rope to belay Jennifer up after i scrambled to the top. Took a bit longer than i thought it was but i felt that it was worth it. THough.. now thinking back.. I probably will never go that route again. I rather do the full loop. Safer and just more fun. I must give Jennifer Tons and Tons of props. The cliff jump.. or slide is not a small jump. It must have been a 35ft and that is def. no beginner height. With some coaching she worked up the courage and went for it. It was a great slide till she kinda rotated.. You'll see in the pictures. but.. she did really well. I'm proud of her. on the way down.. we rapped the last fall with some minor rope complications.. but it went smoothly.. except i loss a ATC.. darn! its okay.. its only some money.. better than someone getting hurt. though Jen ended up with some cut lips from the impact, but she did great.

4 JENNIFER:
Good Job.... A+ on your Accelerated Outdoor Academy Class. You've worked out more and had more adventures than you've ever had in the last two weeks. Hopefully your not to scared from now on. I really do apologize for the lip... I really hope you still had fun and will continue to enjoy the adventure.

Good Times: Santa Barbara

"$55 dolalrs? I can't afford that!.. but i still want to go" .. that was my thought process to the invite for a wine festival in Santa Barbara with Peter. Since I'm not much of a drinker and its expensive, I felt that I wasn't really missing to much. The festival was only 1-4pm so I'll just chill around town until their (Josh, Peter, and Karyn) done with the festival. That is what i did. I dropped them off at the festival and I with my trusty single speed cruised around SB. I biked up and down downtown window shopping many of the shops and actually shopping at some. I then biked myself to up and down the whole coastal bike path of SB. That was fun. I was really excited to see sail boats. In the past few months I've been growing to like sail boats and hope that one day I can own my own. but anyways. ... i think did some biking on the peir, which was a real treat. In LA or OC you can't bike on peirs.. and there are railings all round it. In SB bikes are allowed on and there are no railings.. so i was able to cruise right up and ride along the edge of the peir. Many dads were out with thier sons fishing... it was a nice sight. There was a sea loin swimming around catching fishes as well. After that I talked to a local and was told of a nice little taco shop. Had lunch there.. got a call from peter... and this is where our adventure began. We gathered and strolled back to downtown.. sat down and enjoyed ourselves with some fat tire and garlic fries. Yum!.. .Peter mentioned an hotsprings near by.. so we decided to go.. we asked around to find out the location and set off on our quest for hotsprings. Once we got there we found out that they were closed due to fire hazards. .. jeesh that sucked. however we were blessed with awesome views and great picture ops and fun off roading. One the way down we stopped at the SB mission and had some fun.. peeing in bushes and taking pictures.. overall good times.

Sins and Sprockets

Chicken Leather, a name of a random man I met today at the Sins and Sprocket bike ride. Its a ride that is on every 3rd friday of the month. This ride was a bit smaller than the usual Midnight Ridazz, but it felt more personal. It was easier to talk to people because there were more stops and more time to mingle. We stopped a couple time at liquor stores and at this one gas station. The group in the front got excited and chaotic and lost half the group. I'm really enjoying coming to all these biking events and meeting all the different personalities out here. Today we road more towards the Highland Park area. It was nice because I've never really cruised through there , even in a car. I'm also kinda growing more and more fond of the fixies. I really like how clean they are and all the tricks you can do with them. I feel like i should join them.. but now now.. it'll cost money to convert my bike to a fixie. well it was fun. but tomorrow need to wake up and drive a bit to santa barbara. good night.

A Day Like Any Other.

Today, I am proud of myself. I spent less than 20 minutes playing video games today. It may not seem like much but it is the least i've played all week. Ever since coming back from WEMT course I am shrouded with load of nothing to do. I find myself playing games and sitting in front of my computer hoping for Hiroko to sign online so I can talk to her. Today however, I accomplished a few things. During noon I had lunch with Jacob. We went to "Supreme Dragon", an asian restaurant in Rowland Heights. Since neither Jacob or I can read chinese we just randomly ordered and hoped it taste good. It was good. I then quickly went mountain biking with wilson. Chi, Wilson's dog, was so exhausted. She could only walk and would only move in shade. I joined my mom for dinner at Souplantation then went home and watched Enemy at the gates... over all .. i would say.. its fairly productive.

Midnight Ridazz

Midnight Ridazz: A massive biking event ~400-500 bike riders gather to take over the streets. We holler and hoot and just enjoy the night on our leg powered vehicles. The ride normally is 15-20 miles of casual riding (not fast) where no one is left behind. Its open to beginners to advance riders.. BMX, cruisers, roadies, fixies, mtn bikes, tandem and all other leg powered vehicles are welcomed. Normally there is a theme to each ride, where you can choose to dress up to match the theme.

Man.. another midnight ridazz ride. these rides are seriously good stuff. This time we met at a chicken fast food joint in echo park. I invited Ernest Q, Jennifer Lee, and Erich Chen. None of them has done this ride before. We rode all over LA again. The theme of this ride is Witches Sorcerers and Goblins, kinda odd but i thought i would be still fun. Not very many people dressed up, but it seems that the people that did get into the spirit of the ride all dressed up as witches. I'm so proud of Jennifer who came on this ride with absolutely no exercise for the past 4 years. A 20 mile ride with no exercise. Props to her. Ernest seemed to be fine since he bikes all the time and it was a fairly casual ride. Erich i think was getting a bit winded, but he finished just fine. I tried to take some pictures but none of them really turned out. Also pictures can't really dipict this ride so I have a video from youtube to compliment this one pic.

Sigh of Relief

This is the test that makes worry. Normally i don't worry but this test i'm worreid about. $3000 and a month of my summer was on the line. I have to get 80 out of 100 to pass. If i don't I fail and must retake the whole course. While taking the test I was really worried that I wouldn't pass. During the test I started tallying all the questions that I was unsure about. A total of 28 were tallied. Shit! was the first thought that came to mind. What if i don't pass? Why is this test so opinioned. This test sucks!. As i finished up the test i was really worrying that there is a chance i might fail. The discussion about questions after class among students made me worry more because the answers they chose was different from mine. Then there was this wait till lunch to get our results. All I can do was pray and understand that whatever happens it is God's plan. After the long torture of a wait the results were out. Everyone passed and I received a 89 out of 100. Life is good and God is good. RELIEF

Weekend ER OR and AA and now Crunch Week.

Its been a few days now since I've posted anything. Mostly its because it has been quite busy up here. This weekend Ely and I worked rotations for many hours in Fresno's ER and OR and for American Ambulance. I was able to experience the american emergency services at work. There was so many awesome things I saw during my rotations. My ambulance ride was actually slow and not exciting. The most critical patient we came by was a 4yo male w/ chief complaint of Brain Cancer requiring ALS (advance life support) transport. The hospital was a 180 from my slow ambulance experience. From the moment we arrived we saw crazy thing. There was this one 18 yo female who was involved in an MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident), she suffers from a sever open mandible fx (fx=fracture=broken bone) w/ laceration of lower right face. Basically her jaw was sticking out 2 inches right from where it is suppose to be. We have patients who suffer from baseball bat assault. Kids who were ejected from cars because their parent/s didn't put seat belts on them. We have a gun shot wounds and a male who ampuated 4 of his right toes because he was ETOH (drunk) and jumped in to a prop of a boat. Many many crazy things. We had the chance to pick up so many patients from the heli-pad. Fun FUn fun.. however we didn't have much time to study for this upcoming week. We have 5 different test's this week. 3 paper tests and a practical and National Registries' EMT test. Well lots to study for. HEre are some pics.
